Cremation and Judaism
Reform Judaism accepts cremation, but Orthodox and Conservative
Judaism are opposed. There may be some variations in
funeral rites and customs when cremation has been chosen.
Check with your local rabbi or synagogue for further
guidance.
All four branches of Judaism (Orthodox, Conservative,
Reform, and Reconstructionist) support and encourage
tissue and organ donation.
